Can I communicate with my provider through patient portal?

No, you might not be able to communicate directly to your provider, but your messages will be directed to SIHC care coordination work groups that will address any of your concerns.

Can I request a refill of my medication through my patient portal?

You will only be able to request refills on medications that you are due and have been prescribed by SIHC. SIHC clinical pharmacists will be in contact with you if any appointments are needed before refilling any medications.

What is a clinical summary? And when will I get my clinical summary?

The clinical summary gives you the most important information about what happened during your office visit. Clinical summaries will be updated after your visit has been reviewed and signed off by your provider.

What lab results are visible through the patient portal?

Most common lab results are available through patient portal ,some sensitive resources aren’t available including STD screening, HIV and some pathology reports.

Will I be able to see outside imaging or specialty consults?

You will have to send  “Ask a Question” to our medical records department to have outside records be pushed to your patient portal.

Can I ask questions about family members from my account?

No. Your account is specific to your healthcare and is tied to your personal medical records.

Can I use the portal for any emergency?

No. The portal and it’s secure messaging is for routine inquiries only , if you’re having a medical emergency call 911 and don’t use the message feature.

What are the privacy and security through patient portal?

A patient portal has privacy and security safeguards to protect your health information, such as encrypted passwords and protected logins.

Although patient portals use safeguards there are other safety guidelines you should follow when using patient portal, always remember to protect your username and password from others and make sure to log in from a personal or secured device.
