Kiana Maillet, Ed.D, LCSW, MPA

Program Manager / Therapist

Kiana Maillet is a member of the Lone Pine Paiute-Shoshone Tribe and the Program Manager and Behavioral Health Therapist with the Youth Behavioral Health Program at Southern Indian Health Council where she works with youth 18 years and younger, and their families.  She has over 25 years of experience working with youth and families, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider, and an Adjunct Professor of Child Development and Lecturer in American Indian Studies. Kiana’s educational background includes degrees in Child Development, Liberal Studies, Psychology, Public Administration, Social Work, and is currently enrolled in a Joint Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership. 

Jonathan Roman

Case Manager

Jonathan Roman has an educational background in Psychology, and several years working in roles in which his efforts contributed to bettering communities. Jonathan has had the opportunity to be a Career Advisor, a role assisting community members reentering the workforce, and a Prevention Outreach Specialist, a role that provides resources and conversations about mental health with community members.

 

In his position as the Youth Behavioral Health Case Manager, Jonathan can provide families and youth with a welcoming and comprehensive introduction as they start to navigate their journey through behavioral health. He is also able to connect youth and families with several different programs and resources that assist in different areas of their life. By being part of the SIHC Youth Behavioral Health team, Jonathan continues to thrive in providing quality client care to the community, families, and youth.

Carlenne Lacosta, ASW, BCBA

Therapist

Carlenne Lacosta is an Associate Clinical Social Worker, under the supervision of Kiana Maillet. Prior to joining Southern Indian Health Council as a Youth Mental Health Therapist, Carlenne was working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst serving children with special needs. Additionally, she has been a School Social Worker and Academic Coach for the Chula Vista Elementary School District. Her educational background includes degrees in Theatre Arts, Psychology, and Social Work from San Diego State University and the University of Southern California. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and is working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist. With over twelve years experience providing youth and their families with the tools they need to achieve their fullest potentials, Carlenne is committed to ensuring that everyone she works with has a safe space to feel heard and empowered.

Brianna Farnam

Mental Health Specialist

Brianna Farnam is a graduate student pursuing her master’s in counseling psychology, working under the supervision of Kiana Maillet, LCSW. Brianna has been in the field of social work for approximately five years, most of her career experience has been working with high needs communities. Prior to her employment with SIHC, Brianna was working as a case manager where she provided support and resources to children and transition age youth with a suspected history of sexual abuse or exploitation. Brianna has also worked as a teacher and has experience collaborating with Child Welfare Services as a Child and Family Team meeting facilitator. Her educational background includes a bachelor’s in English from the University of San Diego and her degree in progress at National University. Brianna is committed to collaborating with her clients and assisting them in their healing.
